Hidden Valley Garden U-Pick Field Trip and Stone Soup Celebration
At the end of the 2017/18 school year, our Kindergarten students went on a field trip to Hidden Valley Garden U-Pick. Farmer Jim gave students a tractor ride and allowed students to plant seeds in the section of his garden he sets aside for us. Over the summer Farmer Jim looked after the garden and on Tuesday our Grade One students returned to Hidden Valley to harvest the vegetables. Parent volunteers then used the vegetables to make stone soup, which was enjoyed by all five of our Grade One classes. There were so many extra vegetables, the grade one students shared them with all of the other students in attendance on Thursday.
Many thanks to Hidden Valley Garden U-Pick and our many volunteers! This is such a wonderful experience for our students that brings joy and enhances our curriculum!
