Postcards for Peace

Postcards for Peace is a program our students have participated in for many years. Mrs. O'Gorman orders postcards from Veteran Affairs Canada and they arrive mid-October. Then our younger students buddy up with older students and together they write messages on the postcards which are then sent to Canadian Armed Forces members.

This is such a great project that not only allows our younger and older students to make connections; but also, gives our students the opportunity to connect with Canadian Armed Forces members in a personal way. Students also are given the opportunity to gain an understanding of the sacrifice and achievements of Canada's veterans and Canadian Armed Forces members. The project becomes that much more exciting when we receive responses back from the recipients!
