RCMP Constable Smith Visits Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten classes enjoy a visit with one of our Red Deer RCMP members Constable Smith. We made police hats and sang police songs to him. We were able to hold his handcuffs, see his bullets for his gun, see his baton and it stretched out like a "light-saver" and we asked lots of questions! We learned that police dogs live with their RCMP members. A police dog is not a dog who would make friends with anyone but their handler. They are used to find drugs and bombs. We watched him leave through the window and he used his lights and sirens as he drove away from our school. Constable Smith also brought gift bags from the Detachment.
