Criminal Record Check Facts
We have been having a lot of questions about Criminal Record Checks at the office and wanted to ensure all parents are receiving information about the Criminal Record Check Process.
- All parents who are new to the Red Deer Catholic School Division who wish to volunteer at their child's school require a new Criminal Record Check. The Check must be no older than thirty days.
- All volunteers require a new Criminal Record Check every three years. That means, all Criminal Record Checks that were completed during the 2014-2015 school year have now expired and a new Criminal Record Check must be brought to the office within thirty days of being issued.
- Criminal Record Checks are transferable between schools within the Red Deer Catholic School Division, provided they are not expired.
- All of our volunteers are obligated to notify the school office immediately if their circumstances change with regard to their criminal record status.
We wrote letters to parents whose Criminal Record Checks have expired this week and your children should be bringing this letter home ONLY IF your Criminal Record Check has expired.
If you are interested in volunteering at our school and need to get a Criminal Record Check please visit us at the office and we will be happy to provide you with a letter to take to the RCMP station that waives the fee for your Criminal Record Check.
We have many wonderful volunteers in our school community and we appreciate you taking the time to ensure your Criminal Record Checks are up to date!
